START, Striding TowARds health and well-being Trial

The Centre for Transformative Work Design is delighted to be part of the START project, conducted by Curtin University’s Physical Activity and Wellbeing Lab.

START, Striding TowARds health and well-being Trial, is a workplace walking intervention funded by the Department of Health WA.

Curtin University researchers are seeking to recruit medium to large Perth-based businesses interested in boosting their employees’ physical activity as part of a new pilot project.

Employees who complete the program will be provided with a Fitbit Zip device which they can keep and use to track their physical activity each day.

The research will test the effects of a culture of physical activity fostered by work colleagues to increase walking, and improve health, wellbeing and work outcomes in physically inactive employees.

The researchers are seeking to recruit business owners that will be supportive of employees walking during their lunch break, before or after work.
