“Our clients might differ widely in size, location, and industry, but are unified by their goal that seeks a thriving organisation created through good work design.”

About this Workshop

Work design is at the very core of people’s work experiences. How can we ensure that work is well-designed so that people thrive, have good mental health and well-being, and want to be creative, innovative, and productive while at work?

During our SMART Work Design Essentials eLearning Course, you’ll discover what is work design through exploring the SMART work design model, an evidence-based framework created by ARC Laureate Fellow, Professor Sharon Parker, a world leading expert into Work Design.

The SMART Work Design Essentials eLearning Course was created by Dr. Isabeau Tindall from the Future of Work Institute. During this course, you’ll gain access to the information required to identify and combat the causes of poor work design, such as psychosocial risks, within your organisation. If you are an employee or leader, it has never been more important to become aware of work design impacts.

Learning elements

Work Design assessment

Individuals, even within the same organisation, have unique work design experiences. To ensure that participants are aware of their specific work design needs, and potential steps forward, we provide each participant with a tailored report detailing their work design.

Reflections

Reflecting on your own experiences allows you to better understand your work. Throughout the program participants reflect on their work experiences as they progress through the content.

Knowledge checks

To allow participants the opportunity to gauge their understanding and areas for improvement, we have embedded knowledge checks throughout the program.

Simulations

Often, the best way to learn is through doing. During this program, participants are immersed in simulations exploring poor work design from the perspective of the employee or managers and must make decisions based on best practice.

Videos

To maintain engagement, and to ensure all learning styles are catered to, participants are exposed to videos created and presented by leading experts into work design from the Future of Work Institute.

Interactive discussions

To give participants the opportunity to learn from each other and develop meaningful connections inside and outside of this program, participants discuss and share their own and program specific work design experiences.

Written activities

Participants complete activities and create potential solutions to fictional work design dilemmas and apply these to their own context.

Program content

Although every client has unique needs and requirements specific to their organisation, here is the basic structure of the online learning program. The content of the final program will be mutually decided based on budget and learning objectives.
