The Centre for Transformative Work Design and the Future of Work Institute welcome expressions of interest of Ukrainian researchers who would like to join our research team in Perth, Western Australia.

We accept applications from professors and researchers in the Ukraine who face threats and cannot continue their work. Scholars from an academic discipline related to Organisational Behavior, I/O and Work Psychology space and/or research that is related with the work at the Future of Work Institue or Centre for Transformative Work Design will most likely qualify.

Applicants are assessed based on academic qualifications and experience, the quality and/or potential of their work, and the urgency of the threats that they face. Preference is given to scholar(s) who:

  • Hold a PHD in Industrial/Organisational Psychology, Work Psychology, or Management Sciences, Organisational Behaviour or a related field

  • have an established record of published research;

  • demonstrate academic accomplishment or promise;

  • are facing or have recently fled from immediate, targeted threats to their lives and/or careers in their home country/ country of residence;

  • will benefit their home and/or host academic communities.

We encourage applications from women and members of ethnic, racial, cultural, or religious minority groups, or those otherwise underrepresented in their fields.

If you are interested in the research and support funding, please reach out to us with the following information.

  • Tell us about your academic experience in a field of research in the Organisational Behavior, I/O and Work Psychology space and/or research that is related with the research happening at the Future of Work Institue or Centre for Transformative Work Design

  • Tell us about your current work and personal situation

  • Tell us about your expectations about coming to Perth, Australia

  • Give us a brief description of your intended research activities (1 page max.)

  • Please let us know about any relevant qualification (e.g., PhD in Industrial/Organisational Psychology, Work Psychology, or Management Sciences; previous research appointments etc)

  • We encourage you to attach any relevant documentation: CV/resume (including list of publications, previous work/research experience, funding), certificates

  • If possible, provide a name and contact details of one person who can comment on your work

Unfortunately, we typically cannot consider applications from individuals who:

  • are seeking to continue their studies, including Ph.D. study, or to complete an academic training program;

  • have been displaced or have resided outside their home countries for more than two years;

  • hold citizenship or permanent residency in a safe second country;

The application period is open immediately and applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis, but given the current crisis situation, we try to make a prompt decision about funding support. The assessors are not required to publicly justify its decisions, nor to provide applicants individual feedback on their applications.

The funding scheme can be used to cover costs for:

  • Visa costs (e.g., temporary activity visa 408)

  • Accomodation for up to 6 weeks

  • Travel costs (Return flight)
